FDA opens potential new path for Alzheimer's disease treatments
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued draft guidance meant to spur the development of treatments for five neurological disorders, including early Alzheimer's disease. The guidance provides details for researchers to best approach drug development and "is a clear statement that the FDA understands that the science of Alzheimer's has evolved," said Maria Carrillo, Alzheimer's Association chief science officer.
