The United Way of Tri-County's Ready to Read program is launching in Milford! Ready to Read distributes 12 new books each year to children in low-income families. Children are eligible to participate in Ready to Read from birth until entering kindergarten, building a home library during their formative years to develop early literacy skills. Early and frequent access to books is critical so children enter kindergarten prepared to learn how to read, achieve grade-level reading by the end of 3rd grade, and have a strong start on a path toward success in life.
Sign up to volunteer today! Help us build momentum in Milford. Volunteers will register families for Ready to Read, distribute books to children, and engage with families on reading and other activities.
