Huertas talks about how Alzheimer's plays into the upcoming season and how the disease has personally impacted him. Taco John’s raises over $31,000 for Walk to End Alzheimer’s™ in Iowa Taco John’s stores in Iowa held their annual Forget-Me-Not campaign during the month of September to raise money and awareness for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s™. Help fight Alzheimer's Give Now Get Involved Your Local Community Iowa Chapter   Grief Support Group being offered virtually on November 10 Grief can be difficult to cope with, especially in trying times, so we are offering our first virtual Grief Support Group on November 10 from 2 - 3 p.m. via Zoom. There are eight spots available in this first meeting, and pre-registration is required. Any registrations after the eight spots are filled will be placed on a waitlist. Residential care may fit the needs of someone living with Alzheimer's A person living with Alzheimer's or another dementia may require more care than can be provided at home. The best option may be a residential community selected based on the appropriate level of care the person needs. Virtual African American Community Forum on Memory Loss on November 7 This four-part conference series beginning on November 7 will focus on dementia care within the Black/African American community, and it is available for families and friends caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's disease or other dementia. Some of the topics covered will include public health approaches to reducing the risk of dementia, social isolation and social distancing during COVID-19, healthy living, and telemedicine.
