About our Speakers:
Dr. Williams is a glaucoma specialist at the Wheaton Eye Clinic, an ophthalmology practice founded in 1942 that provides subspecialty eye care to more than 140,000 patients annually. She is a past president of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Before serving on the Academy’s Board of Trustees, she represented ophthalmology at the AMA for nearly a decade, chairing its specialty section. Dr. Williams has served on the board of several ophthalmic organizations. She is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, the Chicago Glaucoma Society, Women in Ophthalmology, the American Medical Association, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Hillary Golden has over 20 years of experience in medical sales and training including medical imaging equipment and software, medical devices, and computer-guided surgical navigation, in addition to being a certified health coach. Diagnosed with severe normal tension glaucoma in July 2020, she has extensively researched the disease leading her to work in surgical glaucoma device sales and training. She has become a patient advocate and public speaker and has spoken at fundraisers, research meetings, and webinars. Hillary speaks about her diagnosis, how glaucoma affects patients in everyday life, and how she manages her disease.
