Dear Tushar,
I'm thrilled to announce a special opportunity to double your impact in the fight to end Alzheimer's disease — our $500,000 Matching Gift Challenge, thanks to longtime supporters, Mary Joy, Jerre and the Stead family.

Mary Joy and Jerre Stead became involved with the Alzheimer's Association when Jerre's mother developed Alzheimer's. Since then, Mary Joy, Jerre and their family have been dedicated supporters of the Association, and they've pledged to match every gift received by June 15, up to an incredibly generous total of $500,000.

Will you make your gift today to help advance Alzheimer's care, support and research while it can be matched? If we raise $500,000 to match the Stead's generous pledge, that will mean $1 million dedicated to the fight against Alzheimer's.

DONATE NOW

When the Steads were first impacted by Alzheimer's, there was very little information available about what to expect and how to cope. Since then, they have been committed to ensuring people have a place to quickly and easily get the support and resources they need. Their pledge will be dedicated to the Alzheimer's Association free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900), where master's-level clinicians offer expert advice, care consultation and support.

“I hope we can touch hundreds of thousands of families and individuals, so they don't have to live through the fear and uncertainty faced by so many before them.” – Jerre Stead
Donate now.

Please consider make making your first gift before June 15, while your impact can be DOUBLED to further our mission to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Thank you for your help as we work to end this disease.

Sincerely,

Donna McCullough

Additional exercise may help reduce brain aging
Results of a new study add to growing evidence that lifestyle is an important part of staying healthy in body and mind, and that even light exercise can benefit your brain. Researchers found that every hour of light exercise in addition to recommended weekly levels of more intense activity reduced brain aging by roughly a year. The scientists cautioned, however, that while the results show a link, they don't prove that physical activity keeps the brain healthy.

Make informed choices about treating Alzheimer's symptoms
Remedies, supplements and "medical foods" are often referred to as alternative treatments for Alzheimer's, but they aren't regulated and don't adhere to the same standards as FDA-approved treatments. The more you know about Alzheimer's medications, the better prepared you'll be to discuss them with your physician and make informed choices.
