What it's like living with Alzheimer's
Living with Alzheimer's is a constant, ever-evolving challenge, and the many misconceptions about the disease only add to the stigma and social disconnect. In the latest issue of ALZ magazine, four members of the Alzheimer's Association National Early-Stage Advisory Group share five things they want everyone to know about living with Alzheimer’s.

Too much TV time may increase dementia risk for older adults
Excessive TV viewing may increase dementia risk, but lots of computer use may protect against cognitive decline, new research suggests. The key difference is that watching TV is considered passive, while activities like reading or computer use require some mental engagement. More frequent exercise and being socially and cognitively engaged may also reduce the risk of cognitive decline.

⏲️ Time is running out on this 2X Match.

It's not too late to join our 2X match challenge and double your impact on the fight against Alzheimer's.
Alzheimer's Association DONATE NOW
$50,000 Matching Gift Challenge
Dear Tushar,

Right now, more loved ones are dying from Alzheimer's than two of the most common types of cancer combined, and that number is only expected to grow. You have the power to do something today to help change the trajectory of this devastating disease.

I know I've reached out a few times this week, but we simply can't provide care and support to the millions of Americans living with Alzheimer's and their families — or accelerate critical research toward methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure — without your support today.

Donate Now

You can do something right now that can have an immediate impact — double the impact, in fact — by joining our End of Summer $50,000 Match Challenge. But time is running out, and we need your help to achieve this challenge.

We're counting on you.

A rapidly escalating global health crisis, Alzheimer's deaths have increased 145% over the last 20 years. We need you in this fight — so please don't miss this chance to make 2X the impact. A generous group of Alois Society members has come together to fund this $50,000 match opportunity, which gives you the chance to have your gift go twice as far to offer help and hope to all affected by this devastating disease. Please help us reach our $50,000 goal with a donation before this match challenge ends on August 31.

What makes opportunities like these so exciting is the extent to which your simple act of generosity today can have an impact by:
  • Ensuring that callers to our free 24/7 Helpline (800.272.3900) can speak confidentially, at any time of day, with master's-level care clinicians for decision-making support, crisis assistance and education.
  • Fostering the dynamic community of research scientists making global progress toward new treatments to stop, slow and prevent Alzheimer's and all other dementia.
  • Helping our advocates successfully fight for critical research and support initiatives at the state and federal levels while speaking up for the needs and rights of people living with Alzheimer's.

When you give during this End of Summer $50,000 Matching Gift Challenge, just look how your impact can be increased:
$16 can become $32.
$30 can become $60.
$50 can become $100.
Double my impact now.

You're making an incredible difference for people living with Alzheimer's in communities just like yours. Thank you for supporting our mission to lead the way to end Alzheimer's and all other dementia — by accelerating global research, driving risk reduction and early detection, and maximizing quality care and support.

With deep appreciation,
