Advocacy Forum awards will honor leaders in the fight against Alzheimer's | | | Alexandra Socha | During the 2018 Alzheimer's Association AIM Alzheimer's Advocacy Forum, the nation's premier Alzheimer's advocacy event, we'll honor leaders who are working tirelessly to end the disease.
Senators Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) will be honored with the AIM Humanitarian of the Year Award, given to public officials who've made significant contributions to advance research, enhance care and support for those living with dementia and their caregivers. The senators are being recognized for their outstanding leadership on behalf of people living with Alzheimer's and other dementias.
Actress and Alzheimer's Association Champion Alexandra Socha will receive the Young Advocate Award, bestowed upon a member of the next generation of Alzheimer's advocates who's dedicated to raising awareness of the disease and the cause among a younger audience. Socha's mother is living with Alzheimer's, and Socha is fighting the disease in her honor.
