NIA awards up to $47 million to U.S. POINTER ancillary study
The U.S. National Institute on Aging (NIA) has awarded up to $47 million to the University of California, Berkeley, to incorporate advanced brain imaging into the Alzheimer's Association U.S. POINTER clinical trial. U.S. POINTER is investigating whether exercise, nutrition and other lifestyle changes can protect memory in people at risk of developing dementia.

"Veronica Mars" star honors grandmother who lived with Alzheimer's
Actor and Alzheimer's Association Celebrity Champion Percy Daggs III ("Veronica Mars") joined the cause in honor of his beloved grandmother, Sadye, who died with Alzheimer's in 2013. Daggs says that sharing memories and talking to other people who've experienced the disease is the best way to honor her life.
