The need continues

We are reaching out to our community to ask for support in addressing the ongoing issue of food insecurity. Despite the holidays being over, many individuals and families continue to struggle to put food on the table.

Even with our best efforts, new families continue to register at all three of the United Way of Tri-County’s (UWTC) food pantries and hot meal programs every day across the MetroWest/495 Corridor. Our mission to alleviate hunger for low-income households throughout the region is more important than ever.

Two friends, Lee and Jean, seniors who recently visited one of the UWTC’s food pantries together, were overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of the staff and volunteers.

“I’m flabbergasted, I just can’t believe all the food that’s in my car,” Lee said. “I have never been to a food pantry in my life, and I’m just, I don’t know what to say”. Through her tears Lee added “the people are so nice”.

Jean had come to the pantry before, many years ago when her children were young, “they helped us then, and now they’re helping me” Jean added.

Food insecurity affects individuals and families of all ages, backgrounds, and circumstances, and we believe that no one should go hungry. By working together, we can make a difference and ensure that everyone has access to the nourishment they need to thrive.

Join us in the fight against hunger and help make a positive impact in the lives of those in need. We are grateful for your support of the Marlborough Community Cupboard,

the Pearl Street Cupboard & Café and WHEAT Community Connections.
