| Dear Tushar,
As the end of the year approaches, we continue to face so much need. One of our greatest challenges continues to be the extraordinary need for food assistance. With so many families across the MetroWest/495 corridor struggling to put food on the table, the United Way of Tri-County’s three food pantries and two hot meal programs have seen an unprecedented demand for assistance. We are doing everything we can to keep up including two new additions in 2024. Gus the Bus, our mobile food pantry, will be traveling to food deserts to provide free groceries for people in need who do not have access to food pantries. We are also launching our first Community Garden in Framingham, growing our own fresh vegetables and fruits to provide families with even more healthy, nutritious food. Our mental health/suicide prevention program, Call2Talk, along with Mass211, the statewide information and referral platform, is projected to answer more than 450,000 calls in 2023. Mass211 and Call2Talk are expanding resources to address the increase in demand across the state from those who need to be connected to critical programs and services, and/or are struggling from depression, loneliness, and other mental health issues. Ready to Read, the United Way of Tri-County’s early literacy intervention program, is also expanding to more cities and towns in the MetroWest/495 Corridor, providing books and literacy kits to over one thousand at-risk children from low-income families. To do all this, we need your support. We are calling on you to help us combat this crisis. We need your help to ensure every family across the MetroWest/495 Corridor has access to the programs and services they need thrive. I hope we can count on your support with end of the year giving. Your tax-deductible donation will go directly towards providing food, books, mental health programming, and connections to programs for the many families who desperately need our help. Every dollar counts and we cannot do this without you. Donations are down due to the economy, so we need your help now more than ever. Please consider making a generous tax- deductible, year end investment in your community today! Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our neighbors who are struggling. Thank you for your support and generosity. Wishing you and your family a happy and healthy New Year. Gratefully, |
